Timber Framing & Restoration

1446 Creek Locks Road, Rosendale, New York

Square feet: 1630
Completed: 2012
Built by:Warren Ashworth, Susan Kander, Kevin Seekamp and Jorge Jarmillo

This severely dilapidated timber-framed structure was originally built as a bargemen’s building for the Delaware and Hudson Canal in about 1842, to service the lock nearest the Hudson River.  It faces the Rondout River in Ulster County.

It was converted to a house sometime in the 1920s and was a ruin when we acquired it.  With the help of two extraordinary local craftsmen we expanded the building and turned it into a comfortable 3 bedroom house that takes advantage of a difficult site.
