Speakeasies have never gone out of style and Firefly has quickly become the most fashionable speakeasy in Kansas City, Missouri. From a humble backroom that once was the auxiliary garage of an old firehouse has sprung this dramatic new hide-away. Entered through a unmarked street door, one walks down a 50’ long by 3’ wide corridor twinkling with lights representative of the bars name. This opens up into the lounge with its sinuous blue bar, curving spine see-through wall, and cozy, intimate seating areas. Firefly Lounge is an iconic upscale escape in an area better known for Irish pubs and dirty dives yet the project was built on the tightest of budgets. To quote one of the owners, “Great ideas don’t require big budgets, just clear vision”.
