The word bustan has its roots in middle eastern languages of Arabic and Aramaic meaning garden or orchard. Its warm rich environment was designed to be home to the Mediterranean flavors that owner Tuvia Feldman grew up with in Israel. Bustan was designed in collaboration with Warren’s long time associate Randi Halpern of Randi Halpern Interior Design. Randi, working closely with the owner, was responsible for the remarkable collection of textiles, finishes and colors.
The overall design of the restaurant was very much a collaborative project with Mr. Feldman accessing his deep collection of resources and craftspeople to bring to fruition this lively, bustling restaurant and outdoor garden.
