One Mile House

Address: 10 Delancey Street, New York, NY
Square feet: 2,200
Completed: 2013
Client:  One Mile House
Link: www.OneMileHouseNYC.com

Primarily a bar, One Mile House is dedicated to presentation of craft beers and liquors.  It was designed to be reminiscent of the time during Prohibition.  Its double bar is unique in New York.  Centered around a deep bearing wall, the opening in the middle gives the impression one is looking in a mirror and yet, in fact, one is looking at a mirror image bar on the opposite side.

In keeping with the logic defying mirror imagery, the walls are adorned with a collection of antique convex mirrors.

The bathroom wallpaper was all selected by the architect and features original pages of New York newspapers from the Prohibition era, installed as wallpaper.
